Located at 156 Smithfield Street a few blocks off of State Route 616, Mauthe Park is a beautiful wooded setting with .3 miles of walkways, and a newly refreshed playground. In addition, the Rotary Pavillion and the Meeting Room at Mauthe Park are both available for rent. Named after J.L. "Pete" Mauthe, the former president of Youngstown Sheet & Tube donated the land to the city of Struthers in perpetuity.
There is plenty of parking available to get out and enjoy a brisk walk or to bring the family dog for some exercise. DOGIPOT® stations have been placed throughout the park for clean-up and dogs must be leashed at all times.
The ball fields at Mauthe are open to the public when not in use by our Struthers High School Lady Cats or the Struthers Baseball League. The season runs from March until June and again two months in the fall. No animals are permitted on the ball fields at any time.
The playground at Mauthe has just been totally refreshed. A state of the art drainage system has been installed, along with a new perimeter border and 44 tons of rubberized mulch providing a safe play area for all, along with new swings and safety mats.
And speaking of safety, we have a security system with cameras that are monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The park is open from 7am until 9pm so come and take a walk or just sit at one of our many benches and ENJOY!
